Join us to paint the beauty of Historic downtown Grass Valley! Many love downtown Grass Valley for its award-winning restaurants, historic hotel, art galleries, unique shopping experience, popular breweries, and world-class wineries. We invite you to come to a paint and sip class where you’ll be given step-by-step directions on how to paint our charming downtown scene! On Sunday, August 4th from 1:00 to 3:30 pm, Come Paint With Us is holding a paint and sip class, “Historic Downtown.” This street scene depicts the clock tower and surrounding businesses on the corner of East Main Street and Mill Street.

Nestled in the middle of the Sierra Nevada Foothills, downtown Grass Valley offers a window into the past while presenting the best the present has to offer. From the time that travelers rested in our area’s grassy fields after a long trek over the Sierra Nevada mountain range, historic downtown Grass Valley, California has been the heart of this charming community. When quartz gold was discovered here 150 years ago, the gold industry blossomed, drawing thousands of hopeful miners to the area from around the world. The history of the gold rush era and the promises of the West are ingrained in the architecture of the small towns in the Foothills of the Sierra Nevada.

Enjoy a glass of local wine while creating this inspired depiction of historic downtown Grass Valley! This class requires no painting experience or background. Your Come Paint With Us instructor, Julia Ward, will provide you with step-by-step direction and easy to follow instructions.

Included in your class fee are all the materials you need to paint this downtown scene: an easel with your 16×20″ canvas, an apron, all the right brushes, and pre-selected acrylic paint. No experience with painting is needed to have fun!
