Come Paint With Us has a fun and unique class coming up, perfect for carving out a little time to yourself in the midst of the pandemic! We will show you how to upcycle a wooden chair into an adorable planter that’s perfect for your front porch or as a gift.
Our Shabby Chic Chair Planter Class is happening on Sunday, September 27th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. It’s perfect for beginners who want to finish the afternoon with a completed DIY project. Grab your tickets today, because we’re limiting the class size to ensure ample space for physical distancing.
You’ll learn the benefits of transforming furniture with chalk paint as we re-purpose unique and individual chairs. We will provide you with a chair, a plant, and everything else you’ll need! No experience is necessary. In this class, you will:
- Learn how to use chalk paint
- Learn how to distress and accent your piece
- Learn how to use wax as a topcoat
- Get to take home your decorative chair planter!
We encourage you to wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on. This is a fun class; some call it art therapy! All tickets include a complimentary glass of wine, beer, or soda.
“I wanted to bring a fun and relaxing project to work in and get a little creative therapy time in too, when we all could use time out of the house. Chalk painting is so easy, no sanding to get started. Anyone can do it! There will be two of us teaching techniques and sharing tips that you can take with you to create other projects,” shares the instructor, Mardie Christensen.
She continues, “The chair planter is a favorite of ours. It will bring a smile to your masked face as you see your chair come to life. We have many chalk paint colors to select from and all the tools. We look forward to helping you create your own happy chair planter for you and guests to enjoy for years to come. Come Paint With Us!”
Masks are required during class for your safety and the safety of our community. All students will be placed at least 6 feet apart (unless living in the same household). Class sizes are limited to ensure ample space for physical distancing. And if you are coming with friends, come a few minutes early to ensure you get to sit near each other.
