Sunflowers painting class on Sunday, May 19, 2019Join us on Sunday for a step-by-step Sunflowers painting class, along with chill music and a great selection of wine and beer for purchase! We love this painting, and so do our guests! Now it’s your chance to get your creative on during a springtime paint and sip session.

This paint and sip will be held on Sunday, May 19th from 3:00 to 5:30 pm. The class will be held at the Grass Valley’s newest event venue, The Foothills Event Center. Doors will open 15 minutes before the class begins, so you’ll have time to grab a drink from the Foothills bar and get settled before class begins!

Participants at a past Sunflowers paint and sipOur Sunflowers painting draws inspiration from Vincent Van Gogh’s famous series of sunflowers paintings. He painted a total of five large canvases with sunflowers in a vase, with three varying shades of yellow. In doing so, he sought to demonstrate that it’s possible to create a meaningful, expressive painting using only variations of a single color. (source: VanGoghMuseum.nl). Your instructor, Julia Ward, will guide you through the entire painting process, from blank canvas to completed painting.

Come Paint With Us provides all of the paint and supplies you’ll need to make your 16×20” canvas masterpiece! Your ticket fee covers all of the materials you’ll need: all the right brushes, an easel with your 16×20″ canvas, an apron, and high-quality acrylic paint. Get a drink from the Foothills bar, put on an apron, take your seat, and get ready for a great time! Your instructor will take you through step-by-step to create an original piece of art, with lots of fun along the way.
