Watercolor paint typically has a translucent (clear) quality, which is wonderful when you’re creating delicate or airy effects. Something to keep in mind when working in watercolor is that the paint dries quickly. Also, it dries to a lighter hue than it looks when you first apply it to paper.
 
Come Paint With Us held a watercolor painting class a couple of weeks ago. Class attendees were instructed by our lead watercolor instructor Julia Ward in creating a gentle and introspective depiction of the Tahoe shore. We had lots of positive feedback after the class:

Lake Tahoe has lots of beauty and serenity. Many of us enjoy taking a day trip to this peaceful location! And, watercolor is the perfect medium in which to capture this serene locale.
