Our Christmas Family PortraitWe had a wonderful time at our most recent acrylic painting class, creating the charming painting “Our Christmas Family Portrait.” Attendees of this class relished in the holiday spirit while enjoying a glass of wine and receiving easy-to-follow instructions.

From all of us here at Come Paint With Us, we wish you Happy Holidays and New Year! Our entire team is grateful for the creativity we were able to inspire in class attendees in 2016. As you gather with your loved ones over the holidays, we thank you for taking part in our relaxing and fun painting classes!

Koi FishTo welcome the new year, we look forward to our next acrylic painting class, Koi Fish. The class will be held on Thursday, January 12th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It’s an absolutely perfect painting subject for the New Year; koi fish symbolize good luck and endurance. This type of fish actually climbs up waterfalls, stubborn on reaching the top!

Julia Ward, creator of this composition and instructor of the class, says, “I’m thrilled to introduce this subject. Koi fish are majestic and enchanting creatures that contain meaningful symbolism in the East. Also, I find that water is one of the most compelling subjects to paint. The water of the pond in this painting creates the illusion of fluidity. I look forward to teaching others how to paint this subject!”

Invite your friends or significant other to this class: koi fish are symbols of love and friendship in Japan. In China, koi fish signify having more than enough. The fish appear in many places during the Chinese New Year: landscape paintings, cards, decorated food, and in calligraphy.
